Comissioned by the Greek government, this is the first textbook and manual written specifically for the identification of spatial markets and the optimal allocation and location of large, organized commercial facilties in Greek urban areas. The manual guided the establishment of commercial centers in the Athens metropolitan region, and later on in a number of other cities where commercial developments were initiated or financed by institutions of the Greek government.

Commissioned by the Energy Research and Development Administration (ERDA), predecessor of the United States Department of Energy, this monograph develops a systematic methodology for the incorporation of energy production, use and conservation in communities and neighborhoods, as the United States began to focus its attention on policy issues of alternative fuel availability and economy in the aftermath of the 1973 world energy crisis. This is the first official publication of the US government addressing issues of energy in cities and neighborhoods, a concern that was destined to gain central place in urban planning and development in subsequent years.

This five-volume monograph was comissioned by the Government of Greece, Ministry of Coordination, and focused on the agricultural economic development of the island of Crete. The product of a multi-year collaboraton beeen the Greek Regional Development Service of Crete and the Israeli economic think-tank AGRIDEV, which specialized in agricultural development polcies and strategies, the study established the baselines and identified the development priorities for Cretan agriculture to move out of its subsistance character, embark in large scale land consolidation, irrigation and rural transport programs, and take advantage of the unique climate assets of the island to develop cash crops. As a regional planner with YPAK, the Regional Development Service of Crete, I participated in the authorship of Volumes I and IV.
